What do we do?
We are a scheme for people over 55, living in the Borough of Greenwich that is completely confidential, free and independent of statutory services and local government.
We recruit, train and support local people to become advocates, who will work on a one-to-one basis with an older person. Where older people have difficulties speaking up for their rights and entitlements - and there is no other independent person who can do that - we can help by providing a trained advocate. We offer long term citizen advocacy and short term crisis advocacy
An advocate is faithful and loyal to what you want.
"My advocate is now my friend. She comes to see me most weeks and phones me up. She helped me sort out lots of things after my husband died. I can still turn to her when I need to."
